Apple has long been known as a computer company, then for the popular iPod which dominated the MP3 market. All Mac computers come with exclusive iTunes for your iPod. It was only a matter of time before the company expanded their creativity and technology into the mobile phone industry. Apple has partnered with AT&T Wireless in an exclusive 5 year contract. Apple is almost ready to release their new iPhone to the public in June and it is sure to be a success with all of the pre-release reviews that have been written.
The Apple iPhone is said to have a few revolutionary, unique features. It's sleek design may remind some of an iPod, and from the inside as well. It has a wide-screen that is 3.5 inches. The iPhone comes equipped with Safari, a full-featured built in web-browser which give the user the ability to search the Internet viewing pages in either portrait or landscape mode. With the iPhone you are getting a cell phone, iPod, 2 megapixel camera and a full-featured web browser in one small device.
The iPhone is only 11.6mm thick, supports Bluetooth 2.0, and has either 4GB or 8GB. It features up to 16 hours of playback. The iPhone will go on sale in stores and online in June with 2-year service contracts.
The iPhone is designed for enjoying video, photos, and music. The phone doesn't come with the standard cell phone key pad, but instead has a large wide screen with advanced touch-screen technology. The iPhone utilizes a full operating system, something that has never seen on any other cell phone before.
A major benefit that those who have seen the new iPhone boast is that it is very user-friendly. The iPhone is completely menu-driven, so if you have used an iPod you will have no problem adjusting to the iPhone's format. You take your thumb to scroll through personalized lists that you can make. You can even use this scroll technology to manage your voicemail. So you can use your thumb to scroll through functions, as well as voice mail messages, then select the one that you want to hear. Much easier then being forced to listen to all of your new or saved messages trying to find a saved number or address.
The new Apple iPhone is the perfect example of how to combine several different popular technologies and devices into one all in one, please everyone device. The iPhone is sure to be copied and mimicked in the months to come as other manufacturers scramble to compete with the revolutionary new device. The iPhone is sure to be a successful hit among consumers given the current pre-release reviews that have been written. The iPhone will become one of the first phones available for the new AT&T which has replaced Cingular Wireless.

Why is it that I find myself inevitably being drawn to things that are smaller than the competition? It doesn't really mean that it's a better product, and yet, when deciding between an iPod Mini and an iPod Nano, I was willing to sacrifice the storage of the mini for compactness of the nano (and the satisfaction of knowing that smaller pocket in my jeans has a purpose). Isn't it strange? Especially when I find myself losing, breaking, or needing to get glasses because of just how small the nano is. At what point will such mp3 players become so small that people finally start to go for the size bigger.
It's kind of happening with remote controls (cause how many times to those get lost in the couch?). Everyone likes a big screen TV, but even then the focus becomes on how flat it can be.
Further down the line, I think we also need to ask ourselves how much of our lives we're willing to invest in a single product. Is the convenience of it worth it? First of all, there's the monetary value, so losing something like an iPod or similar mp3 player (I like CREATIVE) is sure to bring tears to even the most hardened music lover. Then of course there's the sentimental value.
Some people, due to their computer space, keep ALL of their music on their mp3 player, and in some cases, videos and photos as well. So if you lose that, what's left? What's supposed to occupy your time on the subway, the car, or walking to work? Suddenly your life is half as fulfilling.
This is why I'm terrified, but also extremely tempted to invest in something like an iPhone. On top of keeping all your digital media on your iPod, your iPhone also can house much more advanced video games, as well as the gateway to your social life. The convenience of this is staggering, but boy, would I spend a lot of time making sure it's exactly where I left it. Like a surrogate child. Cause if you lose or break that, you may as well be lost at sea, or in the middle of the Sahara.
Oh well, ignorance is bliss, and the best way to maintain for me is playing old school Tetris on my old Series 60 phone while listening to the latest song by Maroon 5 with a background showing a slideshow of my last vacation. Aaahhhhh...

It was not that long ago that cell phones were a luxury, not a necessity. Anyone over the age of 30 will remember the days when wireless phones were big and bulky with average reception and limited coverage at best. The screaming cell phone is a feature that allows for the cell phone handset to emit a noise similar to a human scream in the event that the phone is lost or stolen. Once reported, a system administrator can begin to render the scream through the use of a "kill switch". Once the noise begins, the device becomes inoperable and all stored data is subsequently erased.
Although "screaming technology" does not prevent the theft itself or even the return of the handset, it does keep sensitive cell phone data out of the hands of the thief. As one would expect, it makes the perpetrator of the crime extremely conspicuous as well. This technology can be used with any portable device: cell phone, Blackberry, PDA, pager and even a notebook computer.

If the Iphone is as popular as the Ipod, Apple will force other cell phone manufacturers to follow their lead. Be prepared to spend some money if you plan on buying one. The Iphone is slated to carry a hefty price tag ($499-599) - (but is it ever a cool phone!) The Apple Iphone may be the one phone that you simply cannot live without.
